Protein French Toast

Protein French toast that packs in 11 grams of protein per slice! With only 5 ingredients, you can make this recipe in just a few minutes without using whey protein powder!

Ingredients

  • 3 slices bread *see notes for higher protein option
  • 3/4 cup egg whites
  • 1 tsp Stevia
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg whites, cinnamon, Stevia, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
  • Dip bread in the mixture, making sure each side gets coated. Repeat this process for each slice of bread.
  • Coat a non-stick pan with cooking spray and place it over medium heat. When hot, add bread and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  • Enjoy this French toast with powdered sugar, sugar free syrup, or on its own!

Notes

* I used Ezekiel 4:9 Sesame bread, which has more protein than white bread.
Cooking time will vary depending on bread type. Thicker varieties (like Brioche) will require more time on each side.
Use sugar free syrup to avoid adding more calories and carbs.
