These air fryer pizza bagels are super easy to make for a quick weekday meal. There are plenty of options when it comes to toppings and you can whip them up in under 10 minutes!

Who doesn’t love pizza? I could eat this stuff every night for dinner (seriously). One common misconception I hear as a nutritionist is that pizza is unhealthy.

But it doesn’t have to be. When using smart ingredients, you can make a lower calorie meal that still packs plenty of nutrients. If you don’t know by now, eating enough protein can help keep you full longer.

These air fryer pizza bagels are perfect for picky eaters. You can add any toppings you like such as, pepperoni, chicken, vegetables, and plenty of others.

Ingredients

  • Bagel: Selecting the right kind of base is essential for making a healthier air fryer pizza bagel. I’m using a 647 plain bagel that contains 40% less calories compared to a standard bagel.
  • Cheese: Another crucial pizza topping is cheese. Just keep in mind that this is where calories and fat can really add up. That’s why I’m using fat free mozzarella cheese for this recipe.
  • Sauce: You really can’t go wrong when it comes to pizza sauce. Here I have fire roasted pizza sauce, but any kind will work. Just stay away from plain tomato paste, because it will lack flavor.
  • Pepperoni: To stick with a more traditional pizza recipe, pepperoni is a must. I’m using turkey pepperoni, because I think it tastes just as good and it has less calories:
  • Toppings: You can also add more toppings if you prefer. Try different blends of cheeses, meats, and veggies to make you air fryer pizza bagel one of a kind.

These air fryer pizza bagels are so easy to make. Scroll down to the recipe card for more detailed instructions. Here’s an overview of the general steps:

Begin by preheating your air fryer to 360° F. While the air fryer is warming up, start assembling your pizza bagel. First, you will need to slice the bagel in half (if it isn’t already).

Carefully spread the sauce on the bagel making sure to coat the surface evenly. This will also help prevent a mess during the cooking process. Then you can add the mozzarella cheese.

Once the cheese is on the bagel, finish up by adding the turkey pepperoni. You’ll need 8 slices (half a serving) making sure to cut each slice into quarters.

The end result should look like a bunch of mini triangle shaped pepperoni slices.Then simply place the pizza bagel in the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes.

When it’s finished, remove the pizza bagel from the air fryer and serve immediately. I topped my bagel of with a little Italians herbs and seasoning for extra flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole bagel 647 Plain Brand
  • 42 grams fat free mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup fire roasted pizza sauce
  • 8 slices turkey pepperoni
  • pinch Italian seasoning to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 360° F and cut bagel in half (if it isn't already sliced).
  • Spread pizza sauce on each half of your bagel. Make sure to coat the surface evenly. Then add cheese on top of the sauce.
  • Gather 8 slices of pepperoni and cut each slice into quarters. Carefully place the pepperoni slices on the cheese when finished.
  • Put the pizza bagel in the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes. When finished cooking, top the pizza bagel off with a pinch of Italian herbs and seasoning.

Notes

  • Use a pizza cutter for cutting the turkey pepperoni slices. This will be easier than using a regular knife.
  • I find that 1/4 cup of pizza sauce is the perfect amount. If you try adding more than this amount, eating the pizza bagel will be messy and it will take longer to clean up the air fryer.
